Yandex Launches Smart Home Security Camera: Enhance Your Home Safety Now!
Yandex has announced the release of a new smart home security camera, available for just 4,990 RUB. It’s engineered to detect humans, stream live video with sound, and save recordings locally or via a cloud subscription. Perfect for homes or summer cottages, this device seamlessly integrates into any smart home setup.
Easy Integration and Smart Features
The new IP camera is a part of Yandex’s smart home ecosystem, requiring just a Wi-Fi connection and the ‘Home with Alice’ app for setup. Users can display camera footage on their smartphone, Duo Max Station, or TV Station. The camera supports voice commands and customizable smart scenarios. For example, saying, “Alice, show me the camera footage” displays the live feed, while “Alice, we left” can automatically activate the camera and turn off the air conditioner.
High-Resolution Video and Night Mode
With video resolution up to 2K QHD and a 103° field of view, the camera also rotates up to 350° and includes night vision. Recordings can be stored on an SD card or in the cloud. The ‘Standard’ subscription, priced at 299 RUB per month, lets you set motion detection zones and keeps videos for seven days. The ‘Extra’ plan at 699 RUB/month extends storage to 30 days and sends snapshots when a person is detected. Both plans offer a free first month.
Privacy Controls and Availability
Privacy features include voice-command deactivation (“Alice, enable privacy mode” or “Alice, turn off the camera”) and customizable scenarios like “Alice, I’m home” to disable the device or rotate it away. Physical privacy options include turning the camera lens or muting the microphone, similar to Yandex Stations. The smart camera is now available at the Alice store and major electronics retailers.
