Samsung Unveils the Odyssey G75F: The 37-Inch 4K Monitor Few Expected

Samsung has added another model to its expanding Odyssey series by unveiling the Odyssey G75F—a 37-inch, 4K VA monitor priced at approximately $1,000. This announcement comes with a bold claim from Samsung that the G75F is the first-ever monitor to feature a combination of such a unique size and resolution.

The Odyssey G7 G75F enters a competitive landscape of gaming and professional monitors with a unique selling point: it’s the first of its kind to sport a 37-inch panel at a 4K (3840×2160) resolution. This size fills a niche between the popular 32-inch and the expansive 42-inch models, targeting users who want a larger-than-life experience without the overwhelming footprint.

While OLED panels are taking over the high-end market, Samsung sticks to a VA panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. Additional features include a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, a speedy 1ms response time, and support for DisplayHDR 600 and HDR10+ Gaming. However, the brightness caps at 350 nits, which some may find lacking for true HDR experiences.

Adding to its sleek looks is the curved design at 1,000R—a curvature not everyone might enjoy but one that can offer an immersive visual sweep.

The G75F provides solid color coverage with 99% sRGB and 90% DCI-P3, capable of displaying over a billion colors. On the connectivity side, it includes AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Auto Source Switch+, and Samsung’s CoreSync & CoreLighting+ RGB system.

Despite its size and features, some may hesitate at the price point, considering alternative options like 42-inch OLED TVs with comparable refresh rates that sit below the $1,000 mark.

Whether the Odyssey G75F will capture the market remains to be seen, but its introduction certainly adds a new dynamic to monitor choices. It could appeal to those seeking a middle-ground solution without the bulk of a full-sized OLED TV.
