Zotac has recently introduced the smallest mini-PC on the market featuring a discrete RTX 5060 Ti graphics card. It turns out, the Magnus EN275060TC model with a volume of 2.65 liters (about 161 cubic inches or 0.7 gallons) is even more intriguing than initially expected. A teardown of the computer revealed this unusual solution. It turned out that inside, Zotac managed to fit a full discrete RTX 5060 Ti with a separate board that connects to the main motherboard via PCIe.
However, the video card board lacks an additional six or eight-pin power connector.
Power is supplied through PCIe, but in this case, it would not be enough, as normally PCIe supplies only up to 75 W. The RTX 5060 Ti, as a reminder, consumes about 150-160 W. The essence is that Zotac’s product features an unusual PCIe. As seen in the photographs, the main part of the contact pad is divided into two parts. The first represents a regular PCIe 5.0 x8, and the second is designed solely for power delivery. Next to it, a separate subsystem can be seen, and all of this is designed for 19 V. This unusual solution allowed Zotac to save internal space, as otherwise, it would have been necessary to route a power cable.
