The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has unveiled the sports version of the plug-in hybrid crossover Zeekr 8X. The new vehicle is characterized by a fully black exterior, an electric rear spoiler, and carbon fiber components, built on the SEA-S hybrid architecture. The official launch date is set for the first half of 2026, with the vehicle currently undergoing extensive pre-production testing.

This model continues much of the design language of the Zeekr 8X, adding some sporty details, including red brake calipers and an electric rear spoiler. At the front, a lidar is positioned, and the waterfall-style grille is reportedly inspired by palace foundations, according to Zeekr. At the rear, the model features a full-width rear light. The powertrain consists of a 2.0-liter engine with a maximum output of 205 kW (275 hp).
Like the standard Zeekr 8X model, this version is also expected to be equipped with a 900-volt architecture, a fast-charging 6C battery, and a three-motor electric drive system with a total power of 1030 kW (1381 hp). The claimed top speed is 230 km/h (143 mph). Additional options include wheel design, electric side steps, an infrared night vision camera, and a digital rearview mirror.
The dimensions of this model are 5108 x 2026 x 1780 mm, with a wheelbase of 3069 mm, a full weight of 3300 kg, and a curb weight of 2800 kg.

Zeekr representatives stated that the Zeekr 8X is slightly delayed and in the process of extensive pre-production testing, requiring more time to reach the market. The company acknowledges that the planned release schedule for the 8X has been disrupted.
