The Ministry of Industry in China has released technical specifications for the new Zeekr 8X crossover. Following the flagship model Zeekr 9X, this second hybrid from the brand will feature a hybrid powertrain based on a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a power output of 279 horsepower. There will be two traction battery options to choose from, with capacities of 55.1 kWh and 70 kWh. Depending on the configuration, the electric-only driving range is anticipated to be 256, 257, or 328 km (likely measured using the WLTC methodology). It is expected that the crossover will support ultra-fast charging capabilities.
The Zeekr 8X will be designed in the style of the Zeekr 9X, featuring bold lines, abundant chrome, and a recognizable front section with a two-section air intake. The Ministry also unveiled a special edition styled as the Black Warrior: the grille, window moldings, wheels, mirrors, and badges on this car will be completely black.
Official images reveal that the crossover is equipped with a roof-mounted lidar, indicating the presence of advanced driver assistance systems. The known dimensions of the Zeekr 8X are 5100 mm in length, with a wheelbase of 3069 mm, making it slightly more compact than the 9X model. The top version of the Zeekr 8X is expected to feature a three-motor system with an output of 1000 horsepower or more. Additionally, a towing device has been announced: the crossover is capable of towing a trailer weighing up to 2000 kg. The official debut of Zeekr 8X is anticipated soon.
