YouTube Blogger: Nintendo Switch 2 Durable, Screen Vulnerable

YouTube Blogger Praises Nintendo Switch 2 Durability Despite Scratchable Screen

The Nintendo Switch 2 recently faced a series of durability tests by popular YouTube blogger JerryRigEverything, known for pushing gadgets to their limits. While the console generally performed well, its screen’s susceptibility to scratches emerged as a notable weakness, making it a point of interest for potential buyers now.

Comprehensive Durability Assessment

Typically focused on smartphones, JerryRigEverything occasionally tests other devices, including the Nintendo Switch 2. This time, his rigorous evaluation covered scratch resistance, thermal resilience, and the robustness of the Joy-Con 2 controllers.

The console’s display, protected by a plastic film, got easily scratched by metallic objects, like keys. The blogger highlighted, “Any metallic contact leaves a mark, as seen with my keys. While the plastic screen isn’t perfect, it doesn’t retain scratches from plastic items like Lego pieces or dock stations.”

Joy-Con 2 Controllers Impress

Despite initial skepticism about the Joy-Con 2’s reliability—with their thin plastic attachments—the controllers displayed commendable resilience. “Under significant force, the Joy-Con simply detach without damaging internal pins, even after aggressive testing,” explained the blogger. This flexibility was noted as a positive aspect in ensuring the controllers’ longevity.

The blogger admitted initial doubts about the Joy-Con 2’s durability but was impressed after hands-on testing. He concluded that the controllers would withstand everyday use, stating, “The Nintendo Switch 2 has exceeded my durability expectations.”

Nintendo enthusiasts and potential buyers now have a clearer understanding of the Switch 2’s strengths and weaknesses, highlighting its suitability for everyday gaming despite screen vulnerabilities.
