Yandex Unveils Smart Home Camera: Features and Pricing

Yandex Launches New Smart Home Security Camera

Yandex has introduced its latest smart home device — a versatile security camera priced at 4,990 RUB. This camera can detect human presence, send real-time alerts, stream video with audio, and store recordings on an SD card or in the cloud with a subscription. The launch comes as an exciting addition for tech enthusiasts keen on enhancing home security.

Smart Integration and Features

The new IP camera integrates seamlessly into Yandex’s smart home system. Users can connect it to Wi-Fi and the “Home with Alice” app, accessing video feeds on a smartphone or Yandex’s smart displays. The device supports voice commands and smart home scenarios. For instance, saying, “Alice, show the camera feed” will display live footage, while “Alice, we left” can activate the camera and turn off the air conditioner.

The camera not only detects sound, movement, and people but also sends instant notifications. It records in up to 2K QHD resolution, offers 103° wide-angle viewing, and includes night vision. Local SD card storage is available, or subscribers can opt for cloud services.

Subscription Plans and Privacy Features

The “Standard” plan at 299 RUB per month allows customization of motion detection zones and keeps videos for seven days. The “Extra” plan, priced at 699 RUB per month, includes snapshot notifications upon human detection and extends cloud storage retention to 30 days. Both subscriptions offer the first month free.

Privacy is a key consideration, with the camera responding to commands like “Alice, activate privacy mode” to turn off, or manually tilting the lens and muting the microphone with a Mute button, similar to those on other Yandex devices.

The Yandex smart IP camera is now available at the official Alice store and major electronics retailers.
