Yandex has unveiled its latest smart home gadget—a versatile surveillance camera, now available for purchase. Priced at an accessible 4,990 RUB, the camera not only detects motion and sounds but also streams real-time video with audio. This launch is a timely addition for security-conscious consumers looking to enhance their smart home systems.
The new IP camera is designed to integrate smoothly into the Yandex smart home ecosystem. It connects to Wi-Fi and syncs via the “Home with Alice” app, allowing users to view live feeds on their phones or Yandex devices like the Station Duo Max and TV Station. The camera responds to voice commands, enabling scenarios such as “Alice, show the camera video” to display the stream on a screen, and “Alice, we are leaving” to activate the camera while shutting down other devices.
Equipped with detection features, the camera sends notifications for sounds or movement. Capturing video in up to 2K QHD resolution, it offers a 103° field of view with a 350° rotational capacity, and supports night vision recording.
Users can record video locally on an SD card or choose cloud storage with a subscription. The “Standard” plan for 299 RUB per month allows zone configuration for motion detection and seven days of video storage. The “Extra” plan at 699 RUB monthly also includes snapshot alerts and 30 days of cloud storage. Both plans offer the first month free.
Prioritizing privacy, the Yandex IP camera can be disabled by voice with commands like “Alice, enable privacy mode” or “Alice, turn off the camera.” Users can also create scenarios for automatic deactivation when arriving home. The lens can physically be rotated away, and the microphone can be muted with a Mute button similar to the one on Yandex Stations.
This innovative camera is now available in the official Alice store and major electronics retailers, ensuring smart home security is both advanced and easily accessible.
