Xiaomi’s HyperOS: Fixes Amidst Flickers and Glitches

Developers at Xiaomi have published a fresh report concerning the ongoing optimization of their proprietary interface HyperOS. The primary news involves resolving an annoying bug in the Xiaomi 17 camera. Users previously complained that the smartphone’s camera saved green rectangles instead of photos. The company confirmed that the issue has been fixed, and the correction will be available in upcoming updates.

Besides this, the company has refined the firmware for some other models. Owners of Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro will no longer face inverted dynamic photos, and issues causing system crashes on Redmi K90 Pro Max when using certain presets have been resolved.

Current Challenges and Future Steps

Simultaneously, Xiaomi acknowledged the presence of several current issues under review. Notably, on the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max (version 3.0.34.0), users experience verification code notification failures, and on the Xiaomi 17 Pro, wallpapers can display incorrectly scaled. Additionally, issues with brightness adjustment via the Control Center on Xiaomi 15 and animation problems with the Super Island cutout on the foldable MIX Fold 3 were also listed. During internal testing of the new app display style, visual defects such as flickering animations and incorrect thumbnail borders in split screen mode were discovered. The company is actively working to rectify these shortcomings.

Other smartphone manufacturers like Samsung and Huawei are also navigating similar challenges with their custom OS interfaces, indicating a broader industry trend. For instance, Samsung’s recent One UI update faced glitches in its multitasking features, and Huawei’s HarmonyOS had app compatibility issues on launch. These developments underline the complexity and rapid evolution of smartphone operating systems as companies strive to enhance user experiences while resolving unprecedented technical challenges.
