Xiaomi has announced the timeline for the End of Life (EOL) status of several devices. This signals the complete cessation of system updates and, more critically, security patches. Smartphones will continue to function but will become vulnerable to new cyber threats and stop receiving new features.

The schedule for discontinuing device support is as follows:
- Early 2026: The budget model Redmi 12C will no longer receive updates, heightening its exposure to vulnerabilities without regular software fixes.
- March 2026: The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will receive their final major update, HyperOS 3, marking the end of their upgrade path. Simultaneously, the Redmi Note 12 5G will remain on HyperOS 2, making it less secure as newer threats evolve.
- October 2026: The Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro are set to conclude their update journeys, amplifying risks associated with outdated security measures.
Current technology trends emphasize the escalating challenges posed by cybersecurity threats. With these devices eventually lacking critical updates, users are encouraged to stay informed about protective measures and consider upgrading to newer models for continued security.
