Xiaomi’s Charging Innovation: A Powerhouse at Your Desk

Xiaomi has launched a crowdfunding campaign on its Youpin platform for the Xiaomi Desktop Charging Station 140W. Participants in the campaign can acquire the device for 250 yuan ($35), while the retail price will be higher at 300 yuan ($43).

The charging station is equipped with two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports, alongside four full sockets. The USB-C ports deliver 140W each, while the maximum output for a USB-A is 120W. The device measures 95 x 71 x 53 mm and weighs 493 grams. Included with the product is a USB-C cable capable of transferring 240W of power.

Recent trends in charging technology emphasize increasing power output and multi-port designs. These features are crucial as devices demand faster charging speeds. New USB-C protocols have allowed considerable improvements, with products now supporting up to 240W, matching the capabilities of many laptops and larger gadgets.
