Xiaomi has released firmware 3.0.44.0.WPCCNXM for Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. This announcement was made by Bao Xiao Li, a product manager in the company’s camera division. The update is currently in stable beta testing and aims to significantly enhance photo and video shooting capabilities, especially in challenging scenarios like fireworks and stage performances.
The firmware is equipped with an intelligent scene recognition system similar to that used in the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and supports its use when shooting with the main camera. For the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, the firmware adds the capability of manual LOFIC mode activation in video, supporting 4K recording at 60 frames per second and providing more accurate light and shadow reproduction. Additionally, the rear camera can now shoot video in full-frame mode.
Moreover, a feature for dynamic photos has been introduced, allowing for the capture of vivid moments during video shooting. The professional LOG format now offers extended LUT table support and improved preview capabilities, with a more customizable camera interface due to an adjustable toolbar.
The list of innovations also includes a dual-view mode with simultaneous recording from front and rear cameras, improvements in slow-motion and night shooting, and refined distortion correction when using an ultra-wide-angle lens.
Given recent advancements in mobile photography, Xiaomi has kept pace with competitors like Apple and Samsung. Early 2026 has seen a surge in AI-powered photography tools which Xiaomi integrates to optimize image clarity and context recognition automatically. Such enhancements are particularly designed to cater to photography enthusiasts and professional users who demand high-performance camera features in smartphones.
