Xiaomi’s Ambitious Winter Testing Program
President Lu Weibing of Xiaomi has announced the launch of a winter trial program for the new Mi Home Air Conditioner. The test cycle is set to last four months in Mohe, China’s northernmost city, known for its harsh winter temperatures dropping below –40 °C.
The goal of this program is to validate the performance and durability of the air conditioning systems in real-world extreme conditions, ensuring they can withstand severe cold without faltering.

In addition to the Mi Home Air Conditioner, an unreleased Xiaomi central air conditioner with dual fans is also undergoing rigorous testing. Preliminary results suggest that this upcoming central air system is showing exceptional operational performance.

The Mi Home Air Conditioner is anticipated to include cutting-edge features such as smart connectivity options, high energy efficiency ratings, and a sleek, modern design aimed at reducing environmental impact.
Experts anticipate that the development of these air conditioners could set a new standard for home climate systems, offering high reliability and advanced functionalities, which could significantly impact the market by the time of their expected release next year.
Future Developments and Market Expectations
Looking forward, Xiaomi plans to expand its market presence in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) industry, with next-year launches potentially targeting new international markets. The success of the product in Mohe’s extreme conditions could bolster consumer confidence and pave the way for further technological innovations.
