The official release of the upcoming Xiaomi super-flagship, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, is anticipated in the first quarter of 2026. Even now, an insider known on the social network X as Kacper Skrzypek has published images of the device.
The smartphone is shown in two colors – black and sand. Notably, the device is displayed with the Photography Kit accessory installed. This kit includes an additional battery, control buttons, and a grip that gives the smartphone a greater resemblance to a digital camera. Inside the large round main camera block, four modules are noticeable.
Kacper Skrzypek has previously disclosed accurate information about the Redmi K60, Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge, Redmi 10 Prime, and Redmi Pad before their release.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is said to feature one of the most advanced camera systems in the market, boasting a 200 MP primary sensor that brings professional-level photography to smartphones. It’s accompanied by state-of-the-art optical zoom technology and AI-driven enhancements for ultra-clear images in low light conditions.
While full details of battery capacities are still under wraps, the additional battery in the Photography Kit is designed to ensure prolonged usage for photography sessions without interruptions. This innovation aligns with Xiaomi’s strong focus on bridging the gap between smartphones and professional cameras.
The release of Xiaomi 17 Ultra is poised to accelerate competition in the high-end smartphone segment significantly. With its pioneering camera technology, it challenges existing giants like Apple and Samsung, potentially driving a new wave of innovation in mobile photography. Consumer expectations are high, particularly among enthusiasts and professionals who demand top-tier camera performance in mobile devices.
