The official announcement of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is set for the upcoming Monday, with the flagship possibly hitting the shelves by December 25. Insider Smart Pikachu reveals that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be the first smartphone on the Snapdragon 8 Ultra Gen 5 chipset and remains the sole flagship with a 1-inch camera sensor in this platform. It will feature a flat display with enhanced “superpixel” technology, delivering resolution above 2K while reducing power consumption and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the screen.

The device will be equipped with a battery capacity of about 7,000 mAh with 100W fast wired charging and 80W wireless charging, IP68 protection, and an updated triple camera system. The primary module is a 50 MP OmniVision OV50X with a 1-inch sensor and extended dynamic range. It will be complemented by a 50 MP ultra-wide camera and a 200-megapixel module with 5x optical zoom.
At the event, the debut of Xiaomi’s first home network storage device (NAS) is also anticipated. Insider Smart Pikachu reports that Xiaomi’s NAS will support both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA hard drives. The device is compatible with Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux. Smart Pikachu has previously accurately reported information on new mobile market launches, notably Xiaomi devices. He has spoken of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone and Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet in the past.
