Xiaomi 17 Ultra Aims to Redefine Mobile Photography with Cutting-edge Technology

Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil its flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, with the launch expected as soon as next week-tentatively on December 25.

The device will feature a body 77.6 mm wide and approximately 8 mm thick, available in several colors, including black, white, green, and purple. Additionally, it will come with a signature photography kit, showcased live in its packaging.

Focus on Cutting-edge Mobile Photography

The highlight of the new device will be its camera. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is equipped with a new 14-channel multispectral sensor, a 200-megapixel image sensor, and a Leica telephoto lens with continuous optical zoom ranging from 70–100 mm, corresponding to magnification from 3x to 4.3x. This approach, as claimed by insider Johnny Manuel, is expected to significantly enhance portrait photography.

For the first time, a smartphone will feature a telephoto lens certified by Leica APO and a 1-inch OmniVision OV50X sensor. Xiaomi promises a major breakthrough in mobile photography, particularly in night scenes, with high levels of contrast and detail. Earlier today, we published the rest of the device’s specifications, which are set to reach the global market shortly after its Chinese release.
