Vivo X300 Ultra Unveils Sensational Camera Upgrade, Yet Ditches Signature Button

Fresh details have emerged online regarding the Vivo X300 Ultra, shared by well-known insider Digital Chat Station. According to the leak, the engineering sample of the smartphone is equipped with a 6.82-inch flat BOE display with a resolution of approximately 2K. The panel will feature a narrow bezel on all sides and LTPO technology with an adaptive refresh rate. The body is designed with a flat metal frame and sharp edges.

One of the most noticeable changes is the disappearance of the separate camera button, which was previously used as an action button in the Vivo X200 Ultra. According to the insider, it was abandoned due to questionable practical benefits and its occupation of internal space. Nevertheless, the smartphone will retain the large round camera block on the back panel – it will once again protrude noticeably from the casing.

The cameras are poised to become one of the main features of the X300 Ultra. The device is reportedly set to include two 200-megapixel sensors and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide module. The core of the system will be the Sony LYT-901 with support for continuous optical zoom at multiple focal lengths. Sony’s LYT-828 and Samsung’s HPB sensors are also expected.

Underpinning the smartphone will be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 system-on-chip, a battery with a capacity of about 7000 mAh, an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner, and Android 16 with the OriginOS 6 shell.

This model aims to surpass competitors with its camera innovations, offering photographic enthusiasts notable advancements over its predecessors. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 promises enhanced AI capabilities, improving the user experience and maintaining competitiveness against top-tier brands. As the launch date approaches next year, Vivo’s approach in integrating cutting-edge technology while eliminating non-critical features like the camera button highlights their commitment to refining user-oriented design.
