Toyota’s New Blockbuster: Land Cruiser Transformed into Monster by Kuhl

The Japanese tuning studio Kuhl has prepared an extreme project based on the Toyota Land Cruiser 250 for the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026. The modification, named Blocker Iron Build, features radical changes in suspension and appearance, transforming the family SUV into something akin to a monster truck.

Kuhl engineers didn’t stop with cosmetics. Thanks to the use of adjustable JAOS suspension, special spacers, and gigantic wheels, the vehicle stands 7 inches (178 mm) taller compared to the stock version. The ground clearance is 399 mm, which exceeds even the factory extreme Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×42.

The car comes with 22-inch Kuhl Verz DR03 wheels and 37-inch Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 mud tires. To accommodate these, and protect the body, a steel power kit was installed: front and rear power bumpers, 70 mm tubular wheel arch extensions, power sills, and underbody protection. An expedition roof rack with a 40-inch LED bar is also fitted, along with two rear spoilers.

Kuhl has already opened sales for the finished cars and tuning kits. The cost of a finished model (based on the VX trim with a 2.7-liter gasoline engine) is 6,790,000 yen (about $43,000). The cost of the tuning package itself is 920,000 yen (approximately $5,900).

The company has also announced the development of a more sporty plastic body kit for the Land Cruiser 250 with extended fenders for larger wheels. Its premiere is set for the Osaka Auto Messe in February 2026.
