In honor of a recent victory at the World Rally Championship, Toyota has unveiled a limited edition of the GR Yaris, developed in collaboration with Sebastien Ogier, the nine-time World Champion of 2025. This special series boasts unique interior and exterior elements reflecting the driver’s tastes, including a vertical ‘handbrake’ and a smaller diameter steering wheel with updated controls.
The main technical feature is the new Seb all-wheel drive mode, which redistributes power to the axles in a 40:60 ratio. The ‘Champion’ edition GR Yaris will be offered exclusively with a manual gearbox. The car is powered by a 1.6-liter turbo engine, developing 304 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Production of the ‘Champion’ GR Yaris Sebastien Ogier 9x World Champion Edition is limited to just 200 units.
The GR Yaris’s 304 horsepower places it competitively against modern rivals, matching quite closely with models like the Ford Fiesta ST and the VW Polo GTI. Each offers a unique driving experience but Toyota’s emphasis on rally heritage stands distinct.
The World Rally Championship has seen exciting developments. Toyota’s focus on rally-driven innovations shows effectiveness, echoing recent victories and embodying the essence of their racing spirit.
“The GR Yaris represents a fusion of past achievements and future ambitions,” remarked a Toyota spokesperson at the recent Auto Expo, highlighting their innovative approach.
Toyota has ambitious plans in the rally sector, leveraging advancements in technology and design to forecast their trajectory in the coming years. As the rally market evolves, Toyota’s strategic vision will play a pivotal role in defining their future offerings, seamlessly blending innovation with legacy.
