Toyota Unveils 6th Generation RAV4 with Bold Innovations in Guangzhou

On the eve of the Guangzhou Auto Show, November 19, FAW Toyota held a Brand Night presentation unveiling three key innovations: the all-new sixth-generation RAV4, the updated Corolla, and the electric model bZ3 Smart Home. The formal debut of the RAV4 will take place at the auto show tomorrow, while the Corolla and bZ3 Smart Home are set to hit the market in December.

The redesigned Toyota RAV4 features a completely reworked design with C-shaped lights, a semi-closed grille, and an off-road front bumper. The model is equipped with contrasting mirrors, extended wheel arches, and 18-inch wheels, with 20-inch wheels and a two-tone body available as options. The crossover dimensions are 4620×1855×1680 mm with a wheelbase of 2690 mm. The trunk volume is 514 liters.

Inside, the car boasts a media system with a 15.6-inch display powered by the Snapdragon 8155 platform, a digital dashboard, and a heads-up display. It offers two two-tone interior trim options, enhanced STYLIS seats, seat ventilation, and ambient lighting with 256 colors.

The autonomous driving system includes 24 sensors. There is adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, a 360-degree view system, etc.

The new RAV4 will be available with three power units. At the top of the range is a hybrid system with 185 horsepower. The basic version has a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 171 horsepower, and the intermediate solution is a hybrid system based on a 2.0-liter engine. The top version features all-wheel drive. Versions based on the 2.0-liter engine can be either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Recently, Toyota has incorporated advanced safety technologies such as the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system in its models, enhancing both driver assistance and crash protection measures. The bZ3 Smart Home, meanwhile, is expected to revolutionize the electric segment with its focus on intelligent connectivity and eco-friendly technology.

Market analysts forecast that the new releases from Toyota are likely to strengthen its position, especially in electric vehicle innovation with the bZ3 Smart Home. The automotive industry is closely watching these releases, anticipating robust competition with similar offerings from other manufacturers.
