Toyota RAV4 2026 Launch in China: A Fresh Spin on an Old Favorite

On January 9th, the official deliveries of the brand-new Toyota RAV4 crossover in the AX60 body style began in China. The official prices range from 169,800 to 228,800 yuan ($26,000-$35,000) (approximately 1.95-2.6 million rubles $23,000-$30,000), but first-time buyers enjoy a lower price starting at 151,800 yuan ($23,000) (1.75 million rubles $20,000). The main features of the new RAV4 (the car’s platform remains the same) include a completely redesigned exterior in line with the new Camry and Prius, featuring C-shaped headlights. The crossover boasts a brand-new media system based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 SoC, with a 15.6-inch screen and 2.5K resolution, a new projection screen, and an upgraded interior with soft materials. The technology is borrowed from the Camry XV80: the base engine is a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with a power output of 171 hp. There is also a hybrid system based on a 2.0-liter engine (the power is lower-152 hp, but the consumption is also lower-only 4.59 l/100 km). At the top of the range is a self-charging hybrid based on a 2.5-liter engine. The power of this system is 237 hp, and there’s all-wheel drive-E-Four.
