A new photograph has been published, providing a glimpse into the enormity of the Gigabay manufacturing complex situated at the Starbase launch site. The image showcases four tower cranes engaged in the construction of Gigabay. Gigabay for Starship will feature the following primary dimensions: building height – 116 meters, length – 110 meters, width – 130 meters, effective internal height – up to 115 meters, workspace area – about 75,700 square meters, and an overall internal volume – approximately 1.3 million cubic meter.
These specifications allow Gigabay to accommodate several Starship simultaneously and provide more than an 11-fold increase in manufacturing space compared to existing Mega Bay. The construction is planned for completion in 2026.
“It will be one of the largest buildings in the world, and I think, by some parameters, it will be the largest structure in the world. It is designed for a thousand Starships per year,” Elon Musk previously stated.
