SpaceX Preps for Mars: Super Heavy Booster and the Race to the Red Planet

Photos and videos of the rollout of the giant rocket booster Super Heavy Booster 19 to the Massey test site appeared on the Starship Gazer page in the social network X. This is an important stage in the preparation of the new first stage before full-scale fire tests and a future launch.

In the near future, engineers will begin a series of initial checks. These include pressure leak tests and so-called cryogenic tests – filling tanks with ultra-cold liquid nitrogen to test the strength of the structure under extreme temperature loads mimicking real flight conditions. This booster, if tests are successfully completed, will be used in the first test flight of the next-generation Starship rocket – Starship V3. According to Elon Musk, the test will take place in six weeks. Again, if the Starship V3 test program goes smoothly, the rocket will head to Mars at the end of 2026 – a plan previously voiced by Musk.

SpaceX has recently been pushing boundaries with its technological advances. The company has been in the spotlight following the successful deployment of Starlink satellites and their ongoing collaboration with NASA for the Artemis missions to the Moon. Additionally, SpaceX is working on its ambitious Starship system designed to carry humans to Mars, reflecting Musk’s vision.
