Data has emerged about new plans from SpaceX: the company is considering June 2027 as the tentative date for the first uncrewed landing of Starship on the lunar surface. The next step is a crewed mission, possibly scheduled for September 2028. Both dates depend on the successful completion of a key experiment: in June 2026, SpaceX plans to test orbital refueling, which involves the transfer of fuel between two Starship vessels. This stage is critically important for any long-term expedition, as the landing version of the spacecraft must depart for the Moon with fully filled tanks to return back.
Recently, on Highway 4 near Starbase in Texas, witnesses spotted a large testing device adorned with SpaceX’s logo and named ‘ibeproofin.’ The latest Starship flight was the 11th test launch, which took place on October 14, 2025.
