Sony has introduced the Project Defiant controller, designed as the ultimate gamepad for arcade classics like the newly announced Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection. The company highlights its ultra-low latency connection, offering precise button press and joystick movement responses.
The Project Defiant controller connects wirelessly to PlayStation 5 or a PC through PlayStation Link technology, ensuring a gaming experience free of lag. There’s also an option for a USB Type-C connection, catering to different user preferences.
This controller stands out with a custom-built digital joystick, mechanical buttons, and a touchpad similar to the DualSense wireless controller. Gamers can personalize their experience with interchangeable joystick restrictors available in square, circular, and octagonal forms.
To safeguard the digital joystick during travel, Sony includes a carrying case with the Project Defiant. Set for a 2026 release, Sony promises more details, including the official name, in the coming months.
