He now faces criminal prosecution. Earlier this year, Intel conducted a ‘hunt’ for former senior vice president of TSMC, Wei-Jen Lo, eventually hiring him but also receiving a lawsuit from TSMC. The latter feared that Lo could transfer a significant amount of critical information to Intel. As part of the initiated investigation, a search was conducted at Lo’s residence in Taiwan, and confidential documents were indeed discovered and confiscated. In response, TSMC has already notified its relevant supply chain partners about the situation and has completely changed the project code names of its advanced technology development programs to prevent further access to internal secrets related to these processes.
