During a recent visit by the French publication Cowcotland to Seasonic’s headquarters, it was revealed that the company is preparing a new flagship power supply unit (PSU) – a 1000-watt solution with entirely passive cooling, which will meet the Titanium certificate requirements, ensuring the highest energy efficiency by the 80 PLUS standard.
Currently, the top solution in Seasonic’s lineup with a completely passive cooling system is the PRIME Fanless TX700, offering 700 watts of power. The new unit will raise the bar to a kilowatt, supporting the ATX 3.1 standard with 12V-2×6 connectors. Alongside, journalists were also shown a sample of the new PRIME TX-3200 power supply unit. This 3200-watt device is equipped with a 120-millimeter fan and features six 12V-2×6 connectors.
In recent years, the focus on high power efficiency and quieter operations has driven manufacturers to innovate in the PSU market. Seasonic’s move to a 1000W fanless PSU exemplifies the industry’s shift towards more sustainable solutions without sacrificing power. The fanless design not only enhances operational silence but also reduces mechanical wear, contributing to longer product lifespans. Additionally, the emphasis on supporting the latest ATX standard ensures compatibility with the next generation of high-performance components.
