Despite growing demand for memory and continuous price hikes, Samsung will not boast any significant production volume increase. DigiTimes reports only about a 5% rise. The production volume at Samsung will increase by approximately 5% throughout this year, which, amidst the demand, will hardly be noticeable.
For comparison, demand for memory from clients is expected to grow by about 30% this year. This is despite the fact that demand already exceeds supply.
Previously, Samsung and other market leaders stated they would not rush to expand production capacities, aiming to maximize profits in the current situation. It is worth noting that new factories will be mass-introduced by 2027-2028. Analysts predict the current crisis will end during the same period.
Technological forecasts indicate that global DRAM demand is projected to rise by approximately 30% to 40% due to digital transformation and the integration of AI technologies across various sectors, including cloud computing.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s 12nm-class DDR5 DRAM is seen as one of the leading advancements. It promises improved energy efficiency and performance, aligning with industry’s push towards more sustainable solutions.
