Samsung’s 37-Inch Odyssey G75F: A 4K Display with a Curve and a Price

Heads up, monitor enthusiasts! Samsung is bringing in a new player to the oversized display game, introducing the Odyssey G75F — a monitor that dares to differ with its 37-inch 4K screen. Before all the tech buffs get too excited, this is not an OLED, but there’s plenty to discuss.

Zooming In

Joining Samsung’s extensive Odyssey lineup, the G75F is a first-of-its-kind, boasting a 37-inch panel paired with 4K (3840×2160) resolution. According to Samsung, this size finds itself in a sweet spot for users who find 32 inches a tad too small but aren’t keen on the desk-dominating 42-inch monsters.

Now, about that VA panel. While the trend in high-end displays leans toward OLED, Samsung sticks with a VA panel offering a 165Hz refresh rate, a solid 3,000:1 contrast ratio, and 1ms response time. It also supports DisplayHDR 600 and HDR10+ Gaming; however, some might find the typical brightness of 350 nits a bit dim for HDR content.

This monitor is not just big—it’s curvy. The G75F brings a daring 1,000R curvature to the table, which is quite the ride if you’re into immersive gaming experiences, though it might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Color coverage checks in at an impressive 99% sRGB and 90% DCI-P3, with the ability to play around with 1.07 billion colors. Samsung also packs in features like AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certification, and for those who like added visual flair, there’s CoreSync & CoreLighting+ RGB.

But it’s not just about the specs. The G75F’s price tag wavers around $1,000, positioning it among the more costly non-OLED options. This draws a line for potential buyers considering larger OLED TVs that might check more boxes for less.

With features like Auto Source Switch+ and a few smart connectivity tricks up the sleeve, Samsung’s new entrant is geared for those who value both form and function in their monitor setup.
