Samsung has embarked on a massive rollout of the January 2026 security update for its popular Galaxy A series smartphones. The fresh patch is now available for the 2022 model – Galaxy A33 5G, as well as the more modern Galaxy A35, which was launched in 2024.
The primary objective of the update is to enhance system stability and security. The update addresses 55 vulnerabilities in One UI and Android. The software deployment began in the home market – South Korea: the firmware version A336NKSSDGZA1 was released for the Galaxy A33 5G (catalog number SM-A336N), and version A356NKSS7CZA1 for the Galaxy A35 (catalog number SM-A356N).
Samsung’s proactive approach comes as major smartphone brands are emphasizing regular security updates, ensuring vulnerabilities are promptly patched to protect user data against potential threats. Currently, brands like Apple and Google are also punctually releasing monthly security updates along with Samsung.
The Galaxy A33 5G offers solid features such as a 6.4-inch AMOLED display and a robust 5000 mAh battery, promising reliable performance for everyday tasks. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A35 enhances this with a faster processor and improved camera technology, appealing to users seeking better photography capabilities.
Over the coming days, Samsung is expected to expand the geographical coverage of the software to other regions.
