Samsung Throws a Curveball with Galaxy S26 Ultra Focus

Samsung has radically rethought its strategy for launching its new flagship line. According to insider Ice Universe, the Korean giant has allocated nearly three-quarters of the first production cycle’s volume to the high-end model – the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Of the planned batch of 4.9 million devices, 3.6 million units (73.5%) will be the ‘Ultra’, while the base Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus will be released in quantities of 700,000 and 600,000 units respectively. For comparison, usually, Ultra version sales constituted about 50% of the entire series.

This noticeable production skew indicates that Samsung does not expect high demand for the junior models. This might be because the Galaxy S26 Ultra is attributed with one of the key features of the new line – Flex Magic Pixel OLED technology, on which the Privacy Display function is implemented. Using artificial intelligence, the screen will automatically dim the viewing angles, making the image unreadable to outsiders looking at the screen from the side, while maintaining perfect clarity for the owner.

Additionally, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may be the only model on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, while the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus will receive the Exynos 2600 SoC (possibly not in all markets).

The official premiere of the Galaxy S26 line is expected on February 25, with sales starting on March 11. Ice Universe was the first to accurately talk about the new trend of waterfall screens on smartphones, the notch in the iPhone X, the new design of the iPhone 14, and the 200-megapixel Samsung image sensor. Exclusive information about the novelties is leaked to him by sources in the R&D department of the South Korean giant.
