Samsung is set to reveal its first triple-folding smartphone on December 5, as reported by insider Ice Universe. This innovative device features an external screen with a 6.5-inch diagonal and a large internal display measuring 10 inches, which folds three times using two hinges.
When unfolded, the device’s thickness is only 4.2 mm, making it thinner than most modern tablets. In its folded state, the thickness reaches approximately 14 mm, similar to a standard flagship smartphone with a protective case.
The smartphone is powered by a 5600 mAh battery, marking a record for Samsung’s foldable devices. Should it succeed, the novelty could lead to a new line of Galaxy devices that combine smartphone and compact tablet capabilities.
Ice Universe was the first to accurately highlight the trend of waterfall displays in smartphones, the notch in iPhone X, the new design of the iPhone 14, and Samsung’s 200-megapixel image sensor.
Exclusive insights about new products are leaked to him by sources in the South Korean giant’s research and development department.
This development could significantly impact Samsung’s market positioning, intensifying its competition with leading tech brands such as Apple and Huawei. Their focus on groundbreaking technology and design might set a new industry standard, pushing competitors to innovate further in the foldable segment.
