Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: A Mild Makeover with Underlying Upgrades

Subtle Changes in Design

Insider Ice Universe compared the appearance of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and the Galaxy S26 Ultra, noting a few noticeable but not radical differences between the models. According to him, the Galaxy S26 Ultra features slightly rounded corners, which makes the smartphone look softer than its predecessor. Additionally, the cutout for the front camera in the new model has become slightly larger. This is due to the increased viewing angle of the camera, which theoretically will allow capturing more people in group selfies.

Meanwhile, the width of the bezels around the screen in the Galaxy S26 Ultra remains at the level of the Galaxy S25 Ultra – there is no visual difference in this parameter. However, the display has become a little larger: the diagonal has increased from 6.86 to 6.89 inches, although the difference will be barely noticeable to the naked eye.

Potential Technological Enhancements

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may incorporate advancements in camera technology, such as higher resolution sensors or AI-enhanced features, as Samsung regularly aims for improved photography in their flagship devices. The chipset could be updated for better performance and efficiency, possibly using a new Exynos or Qualcomm Snapdragon variant. Enhancements in battery life and charging speeds are also expected, aligning with Samsung’s trend of incremental performance improvements in their flagship line.

Market Context

The launch of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is positioned to maintain Samsung’s strong presence in the premium smartphone market, where it competes with other leading brands like Apple and Xiaomi. The slight design changes and technological upgrades are likely aimed at providing a fresh yet familiar experience to existing users while attracting new ones with improved features.
