Realme P4 Power Demonstrates Strength; Outpaces Competitors with Unique Charging Abilities

Recently, the Realme P4 Power smartphone, equipped with a massive 10,000 mAh battery, was unveiled. Its reverse charging capability is particularly advantageous given its substantial capacity, and the experts at GSM Arena decided to test this feature in practice. They took the new Realme device and the iPhone 17 Pro, which features a 4,000 mAh battery. At the start of the test, the iPhone had only 7% charge and was connected to the Realme smartphone. The authors used an adapter capable of measuring power parameters.

The process of transferring charge from Realme P4 Power to iPhone 17 Pro, monitored for power efficiency.

Initially, the P4 Power provided the iPhone with 22 watts of power. After 10 minutes, the power dropped to 19 watts, but at this point, the iPhone was already charged to 23%, while the power donor was at 94%. Thirty minutes into the charging process, the power decreased to 11 watts. By then, the iPhone had charged to 48%, while the Realme’s indicator dropped to 80%. Overall, even this scenario is quite realistic and beneficial: the iPhone charges halfway, losing only 20% of Realme’s charge. However, the test continued further. Fifty minutes from the start of the test, the iPhone had charged to 65%, Realme discharged to 70%, and the charging power decreased to 9%. The authors concluded the test 70 minutes from the start with indicators of 70%, 61%, and 7 watts, respectively. Thus, the Realme P4 Power is capable of charging the iPhone 17 Pro to half its capacity while losing just 20% of its own charge, though longer processes will result in more energy conversion losses.

Pros and Cons of Large Battery Capacities

Smartphones with large battery capacities like the Realme P4 Power offer users extended phone usage times without frequent charging, integral for those always on the go or engaged in heavy device use. These devices gain a competitive edge in the market by addressing user demands for increased battery life-especially in times where remote work has expanded.

However, larger batteries tend to increase the device’s weight and size, potentially impacting user comfort and portability. Moreover, they pose challenges for fast-charging technologies, as higher capacities require enhanced systems to accommodate rapid energy input safely. This factor can influence consumer choices and may spur future advancements in battery materials and design.

Technological Trends and Consumer Impact

Current trends indicate a shift towards integrating more sophisticated power management systems within smartphones, enabling better optimization of battery capacity and longevity. The ability of devices like Realme P4 Power to act as a power bank for other gadgets exemplifies the evolution in multifunctionality which could stimulate similar innovations across the industry.

Consumers can expect an expanded range of devices prioritizing user autonomy and multifunctional roles, reflecting broader technology trends adapting to user needs and environmental considerations. These developments also imply potential changes in device marketing, focusing on battery life and cross-device services.
