Honor has unveiled its smartphone, the Power 2, which we’ve previously reported on, featuring a standout 10,080 mAh battery. This remarkable capacity caught the eye of the well-known insider Ice Universe, who highlighted that in terms of energy reserve, the device effectively doubles the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s battery, which is rated at 4823 mAh.
The side-by-side comparative image, placing the Honor Power 2 next to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, reveals that despite the substantial difference in battery capacity, both devices are approximately the same size.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max measures 163.4 mm in height, 78 mm in width, and 8.75 mm in thickness, with a weight of about 233 grams (8.2 ounces). The Power 2 is notably slimmer at just 7.98 mm thick, sparking significant discussion as users question how Honor managed to accommodate such a large battery without increasing the size. Late 2025 market trends have spurred manufacturers like Honor to innovate in battery technology, offering potentially longer durations between charges without compromising device dimensions.
Honor’s strategic move into advanced battery technology aligns with their innovative tech designs. By converting the large 10,080 mAh battery into watt-hours for a more accurate comparison, considering the standard lithium-ion battery voltage of around 3.7V, we obtain approximately 37 Wh for the Power 2, compared to roughly 18 Wh for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This points to a significant leap in power capacity, positioning Honor at the forefront in early 2026. As consumer demand for more sustainable and efficient devices increases, Honor’s Power 2 demonstrates a potential pivot point in smartphone evolution.
