Peugeot has unveiled the all-new Peugeot 408, a fastback manufactured in Mulhouse, France. This model flaunts sharp, angular lines and a relatively low height of just 1.48 meters, enhancing its aerodynamics and bestowing a sportier look.

At the front, the car features ultra-thin LED headlights positioned above the bumper, while the rear boasts the historical first for the brand: a lit Peugeot emblem stretching across the entire width of the body, paired with signature “three claw” LED taillights. The launch version is available in a stunning Flare Green color, shifting from bright yellow to deep green depending on the lighting.

The Electric Upgrade: E-408
The main highlight is the fully electric version, the E-408, featuring a 213 horsepower electric motor and a torque of 343 Nm. Its battery capacity is 58.2 kWh, offering a WLTP range of 456 kilometers, positioning it competitively against Tesla’s Model 3 and Volkswagen ID.4. The E-408’s consumption is notably efficient, at approximately 14.7 kWh per 100 km.

Fast charging capacity up to 120 kW enables charging from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes. A new Plug & Charge feature, arriving in the summer of 2026, will allow seamless automatic payments at compatible stations without cards or apps.

Alternatives for the Undecided
For those hesitant about fully electric cars, Peugeot offers the Plug-in Hybrid 240, combining a 180 horsepower gasoline engine with an electric motor for a total system output of 240 horsepower, and an electric range of up to 85 km. A “mild hybrid” Hybrid 145 variant is also available.

Interior Redefined
Inside, the new Peugeot 408 features the brand’s signature i-Cockpit architecture with a compact steering wheel and a 10-inch digital instrument panel positioned high for optimal visibility. The infotainment system includes a 10-inch screen with customizable i-Toggles for quick access. Voice assistants like ChatGPT and over-the-air updates enhance its tech suite. The front seats are AGR-certified for comfort and available with massage functions in upper trims. Improved noise insulation with thicker glass and air filtration systems add to the luxury. With a wheelbase of 2.79 meters and a trunk capacity of 536 liters, expandable to 1611 liters with seats folded, the E-408 is designed for practical elegance.
Peugeot Care’s extended program covers the electric E-408 for 8 years or 160,000 kilometers, offering peace of mind for new electric vehicle owners.
