Other World Computing (OWC) has announced the launch of StudioStack, a data storage dock featuring a Thunderbolt 5 interface. This breakthrough can be integrated with Apple’s Mac Studio and older Mac mini models.
Photos of OWC StudioStack reveal dimensions of 197 mm on its widest edge and 37 mm in height. It is equipped with a single M.2 M-Key 2280 SSD slot capable of holding up to 8 TB. An additional slot for a 3.5-inch SATA drive, connected via an internal USB port, can provide an extra 24 TB of storage space.
Furthermore, StudioStack incorporates three Thunderbolt 5 ports and three 10 Gbps USB-A ports for peripheral connectivity. The main Thunderbolt 5 port supports up to 60W charging.
The newly integrated Thunderbolt 5 offers significant enhancements over its predecessor, Thunderbolt 4, including doubled data throughput, which enhances performance and connectivity. This makes StudioStack a compelling choice for professionals demanding high-speed data transfers, especially in creative industries.
StudioStack is designed to support a comprehensive range of peripherals, ensuring seamless operation with various devices and peripherals commonly used by creators and developers.
