These headlights do not have an external lens but are instead equipped with sealed modular LED emitters. The housing with these emitters boasts an IP68 protection rating, indicating resistance to dust and water.

According to the company, the absence of an external diffuser offers several advantages: owners won’t need to worry about cracked or foggy headlights. The company also highlights the modular construction. Car owners can replace individual components, such as high and low beam emitters, as well as daytime running lights.

In a company press release, it is noted that the new headlights are currently only compatible with the third generation Toyota Tacoma. However, Oracle plans to expand availability in the future. Specifically, the company mentioned that the Toyota 4Runner and Ford F-150 would join the Tacoma. Experts have noted the groundbreaking nature of this lensless technology, which simplifies headlight design, reduces weight, and manufacturing complexity, aspects not yet commonly implemented in consumer vehicles.

The first batch of headlights should go on sale in early 2026 at a retail price of $800 to $900 per set. Industry experts have also commented on the modular systems reducing repair costs and their positive environmental impact, as fewer parts are wasted.
