OnePlus has gradually confirmed the key features of the OnePlus 15R, set to be unveiled on December 17. The brand recently confirmed an upgrade to the front camera, matching the megapixel count with the OnePlus 15. Officially, the OnePlus 15R will feature a 32-megapixel front camera with autofocus, marking the most advanced selfie camera in the R series. This is a significant improvement since last year’s OnePlus 13R had a 16-megapixel front camera. The 15R’s front camera can shoot video in 4K resolution at a frame rate of 30 fps. This also represents progress, as the 13R’s front camera was limited to 1080p video. The 15R is equipped with the DetailMax Engine technology, offering advanced computational photography algorithms that enhance photo quality.

Thanks to the new front camera, the OnePlus 15R matches the OnePlus 15 in terms of specifications, which also includes a 32-megapixel front camera with autofocus. While the OnePlus 15 uses the Sony IMX709 sensor for the front camera, rumors suggest that the OnePlus 15R will be equipped with an OmniVision sensor for its front camera.
The brand has confirmed that the OnePlus 15R screen supports a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 165Hz. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, delivering a notable boost in processing power, alongside a 7400 mAh battery with 80W charging capability.
