The OnePlus 15 (review on our site) has met the final important requirement for its launch in the US. The flagship smartphone was unveiled in China last month and appeared on global and Indian markets this month. The US release was delayed as the device was still awaiting approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) due to the recent US government shutdown. The shutdown ended on November 12, and the OnePlus 15 has now received FCC certification. The certified model is the global version with the number CPH2749. OnePlus has not yet confirmed the US release date, but the phone has already appeared on the US OnePlus website with the label “Coming Soon.” The model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in memory costs $900. The version with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of built-in memory costs $1000. Meanwhile, in China, the new item costs from $560.
The OnePlus 15 features a 6.78-inch display with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 165 Hz. At its heart is the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 single-chip system, with memory capacity reaching 1 TB. The main camera is presented as a three-module 50 MP unit, and the front one at 32 MP. For autonomy, it is backed by a 7300 mAh battery with support for an ultra-fast charging of 120 W and wireless charging at 50 W. If the pricing information is confirmed, OnePlus 15 will become the company’s most expensive “non-foldable” smartphone to date, surpassing the cost of its predecessor, OnePlus 13.
As of now, there’s no new information on further delays or release specifics in the US. However, in the broader tech landscape, the shutdown reportedly caused temporary halts to other tech product announcements, though specifics remain sparse. In China, the price point remains a significant advantage, appealing to its robust consumer electronics market.
