OnePlus has launched its cutting-edge flagship, the OnePlus 13s, making headlines as the first smartphone to feature an AI chatbot Gemini shortcut on its lock screen. Not even Google’s own Pixel devices boast this feature, marking a significant advance in smartphone technology.
The shortcut hints at a Google-backed “digital assistant,” with the icon clearly representing Gemini. As with other devices, access to Gemini can be initiated using voice commands like “OK Google” or “Hey Google,” or by long-pressing the power button.
Beyond the lock screen shortcut, the OnePlus 13s is the brand’s first to incorporate the OnePlus AI suite, featuring OnePlus AI Plus Mind and seamless Gemini integration across applications. This forward-thinking approach is set to enhance user interactions with smart technology.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 13s shares many features with the recently released OnePlus 13T in China. It operates on the powerful eight-core, 4nm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, running Android 15 with OxygenOS 15.
The device boasts a vivid 6.32-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED display, offering a resolution of 2640 × 1216 pixels and refresh rates up to 120Hz. The screen supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision technologies, protected by robust Crystal Shield Glass.
The OnePlus 13s features a slightly smaller battery capacity of 5850 mAh compared to its predecessor, yet supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging. Photographers will appreciate the 32-megapixel selfie camera and a 50-megapixel main rear camera, paired with a 50-megapixel telephoto lens providing 2x optical zoom.
Priced at approximately $640 for the 256GB model and $700 for the 512GB version, the OnePlus 13s offers a compelling package for tech enthusiasts seeking cutting-edge AI functionality.
