Nvidia’s New Frontier: AI Powerhouses in Laptops with MediaTek Collaboration

The head of Nvidia, Jensen Huang, personally confirmed that the company, together with MediaTek, has developed a new chip for computers. This is the SoC referred to as N1/N1X. In an interview mentioned by UDN, Huang stated that the collaboration with MediaTek has led to the creation of a very powerful SoC with low power consumption and excellent performance, specifically designed for computers with artificial intelligence.

Recently, the chip-making industry has focused on refining AI capabilities, reflecting a growing market demand. Despite no new technical data availability, the N1/N1X is presumed to be a full clone of the SoC GB10 from Nvidia’s DGX Spark supercomputer, but the new version might also be a tucked or streamlined iteration of this chip.

Recalling the configuration specifics, it includes 20 Arm cores and a GPU comparable to the GeForce RTX 5070. The market anticipates that compatible laptops will be released in the second quarter. Against Huang’s words, these could be rather high-end models with significant amounts of RAM to execute AI tasks efficiently.

Technological analysts predict that the implementation of these chips will spearhead advancements in personal AI computing, potentially changing the landscape of consumer PCs with sophisticated AI functions being integrated into everyday technology.
