It appears that amidst issues with certain RTX 50 graphics card models and abandoning the RTX 50 Super, Nvidia is working on a new model likely positioned above the RTX 5090. The resource Overclocking.com reports that five to six sources from different countries are talking about launching a new Nvidia graphics card in the third quarter, one that will be more powerful than the current flagship.
This could either be the RTX 5090 Ti or a new Titan model. However, the first option seems more realistic, given that the Titan lineup hasn’t been updated for a long time. It is reported that the new product may be released by the new school year, in August-September. Why the company needs a model that would be even more expensive than the RTX 5090 Ti given the very expensive memory conditions and the rising cost of graphics cards is unclear. Moreover, the RTX 5090 itself has no competitors.
Rumors suggest that this new release is expected to feature the next-generation GPU architecture, likely codenamed Blackwell, which promises significant performance improvements and efficiency gains over the current Ada Lovelace architecture. Despite the expected leap in technology, the decision to introduce a high-cost product during a period of economic uncertainty raises questions. Analysts are debating whether consumer demand will align with the hefty price tag. Some industry experts argue that Nvidia might be targeting professional markets or enthusiasts willing to pay a premium for top-of-the-line performance.
While Nvidia remains a dominant force in the high-end graphics market, competition from AMD is intensifying. AMD’s Radeon RX lineup, particularly their upcoming RDNA 4 architecture, may present formidable challenges to Nvidia’s supremacy. Meanwhile, the ongoing chip shortages and fluctuating component costs could further complicate the landscape, affecting both availability and pricing of new GPU models.
