The Nissan company has unveiled an updated version of the Nissan Z sports car (known as Fairlady Z in Japan) at the Tokyo Auto Show. Although the model is only about three years old, the manufacturer decided on a light facelift, impacting both the car’s exterior and technical components.
The most notable exterior change is the completely redesigned front end. The large grille, which sparked debates among fans of the model, has disappeared. The vehicle now also features a new green color alongside new 19-inch wheels with 10 spokes. Inside, changes are minimal: a light beige leather upholstery option has emerged. The Nismo version now includes a manual transmission.
The facelift also targeted the chassis. The updated Nissan Z has received retuned shock absorbers, intended to improve handling. Larger brakes were also installed, positively affecting deceleration efficacy.
Emerging trends in the automotive industry see an increased focus on manual transmissions in sports cars, catering to driving enthusiasts seeking a more connected experience. The Nismo version of the Nissan Z captures this trend, potentially enhancing its appeal among traditional sports car aficionados.
Sales of the updated Nissan Z will first commence in Japan, approximately in the summer of this year, as a 2027 model. Observers expect that its distinctive new features, paired with the retained sporty essence, will position the vehicle competitively against its peers.
