The joint venture Dongfeng Nissan has started taking pre-orders for the brand-new sedan with a plug-in hybrid system, the Nissan N6. Built on the Tianyan architecture, it’s positioned as an entry ticket into the premium hybrid segment. Pre-order pricing ranges from 110,000 to 122,000 yuan ($15,100 – $16,700). Open sales are scheduled for December 8, and the vehicle might be cheaper than pre-order prices suggest. For comparison, $13,600 is the price for a base Lada Iskra in Russia with a 90-horsepower engine, five-speed manual gearbox, and no air conditioning.

The hybrid system is based on a 1.5-liter engine producing 102 hp, with the electric motor generating 210 hp. The lithium iron phosphate battery has a capacity of 21.1 kWh, offering a pure electric range of 180 km (112 miles) according to the CLTC cycle. Current trends in the auto market show a rise in consumer interest in hybrid models, indicating a promising start for the N6. The innovation in the N6’s technology is poised to attract tech-savvy customers seeking a blend of economy and performance.
