Company Minisforum has officially unveiled its new MoDT motherboard BD895i SE, showcasing cutting-edge technology with a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX processor. This motherboard supports up to 96 GB of DDR5 RAM with speeds reaching 5600 MHz, accommodated through two RAM slots.
For storage, it features two M.2 slots with PCIe 4.0 x4 support, each capable of housing SSDs up to 2 TB. Despite its compact ITX format, the BD895i SE is equipped with a full-fledged PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for discrete graphics cards. Additionally, it offers HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, USB-C, multiple USB Type-A ports, and audio jacks.
The board supports output to three displays simultaneously and comes with a proprietary heatsink for the processor. The new model is available for DIY system builders (excluding RAM and SSD) priced at $425. Looking ahead, Minisforum may release a variant with an even more powerful Ryzen 9 9955HX3D.
AMD’s anticipated Ryzen 9 9955HX3D is expected to feature enhanced performance metrics, including improved thermal design and efficiency, aligning with the latest needs of power users and gamers. The version with this processor could offer significant improvements in multi-threading tasks.
