Company Midea is launching sales of the Air Horizon M5 air conditioner, the result of deep integration with Huawei technologies. The device operates on the OpenHarmony 5.0.3 operating system.
The Midea Air Horizon M5 creates a flow of up to 9 meters (30 feet), and the system wisely distributes it: cold flow is directed along the ceiling to avoid blowing on people, while warm air moves downward to the floor (“carpet” effect). Ten shell-shaped louvers disperse the air at a 150-degree angle, mimicking a soft natural breeze. Engineers have seriously upgraded the hardware: increased the length of the evaporator, copper tubes, and fan diameter, allowing it to achieve the first-class energy efficiency. A special “ECO” button activates a mode reducing electricity consumption by 25%. With pre-order subsidies, the cost of the product in China is 2500 yuan ($360). Official sales start on January 20.
