Microsoft’s Copilot Soars Despite Market Jitters

Microsoft claims that PC owners with Windows have significantly increased their use of AI-powered Copilot functions. This was stated in a speech after the financial report by the company’s head, Satya Nadella. During the conference, he noted that the daily user base of Copilot has grown by nearly three times compared to last year. Here, Microsoft considers interactions with the chatbot, news feed, search, web browsing, shopping, and other functions integrated with the operating system.

However, Microsoft did not comment on the questions about what percentage of users actually use Copilot. Moreover, the threefold growth certainly seems impressive, but it is worth remembering that many AI functions in Windows 11 have only appeared in the past year.

Microsoft shares tumbled so much that the company’s market capitalization fell by nearly half a trillion dollars in one day

Yet, some data is available. A Microsoft representative later said that the number of paid Copilot subscribers grew by 75%, to 4.7 million. Additionally, the number of monthly active users of Copilot has already grown to 150 million, but firstly, these are exactly monthly active users, meaning anyone who uses at least one function at least once a month is included, and secondly, this also accounts for corporate users. Recall, Microsoft is currently actively improving the image of Windows 11 and is addressing multiple problems, although they do not seem to affect AI.
