The Spanish company Slimbook and the developers of the open-source desktop environment KDE have unveiled the KDE Slimbook VII laptop. This new model operates on the KDE Neon GNU/Linux.
The performance here is quite impressive. It’s powered by the APU Ryzen AI 9 365 with an iGPU Radeon 880M. Such a laptop is offered at a pre-order price starting from 1030 euros ($1133) and 1100 euros ($1210) in retail. This version is equipped with 16 GB of RAM and a 500 GB SSD. The laptop also features a 16-inch 1600p screen with a 165 Hz refresh rate, two USB-C 3.2 ports, three USB 3.2 ports, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 adapters, and an 83 Wh battery.
Supplementing its technical offerings, the KDE Slimbook VII incorporates advanced AI processing capabilities through the Ryzen AI 9 processor, enhancing tasks like real-time data processing and machine learning applications. This positions it as not only a powerful standard PC but a tool for more complex computational needs. Its energy efficiency aligns well with current environmental standards, potentially making it a more sustainable choice among Linux laptops.
