Mars Bound: Musk’s Vision Grows as AI Advances Loom

Elon Musk has outlined the timeframe in which he plans to transport humans to Mars, estimating that it may take another 10 years. “If human civilization continues to develop, people will reach Mars in 5-10 years,” the billionaire stated. In May of last year, the billionaire planned to launch the first manned ship between 2027 and 2028. He clarified that it’s much more important not just to land on Mars, but to establish a full-fledged settlement there that will become self-sufficient over time: “What’s really important is to build a self-sustaining civilization on Mars, which will take another 20-30 years.”

“I believe that the future will be incredible, with so many wonderful things ahead. Starship is the first rocket that can make this happen, and as soon as it’s ready for its Mars flight, the future of civilization will be secured,” Elon Musk remarked.

Elon Musk also stated that by the end of 2026, artificial intelligence will surpass human intelligence, and in five years, AI will be smarter than all of humanity. AI and robots are expected to lead to an unprecedented economic boom, and sales of Tesla Optimus to the general public will begin in 2027. The first launch of Starship to Mars, unmanned, may occur by the end of the year.
